Practical Nursing
Description
This 12-month, full-time post-secondary training program will prepare students to work as a highly skilled member of the healthcare team. Upon successful completion of the program and writing the national licensure exam, students will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed physician to provide nursing care.
Practical nurse training may be the first step in a career ladder concept in the nursing profession. Classes begin in July.
Interested students must submit an application, high school transcript or GED scores. Pre-entrance tests are given in March and April. Applicants are evaluated and selected on the basis of a point system which are received from a personal interview, pre-entrance test scores, high school transcript or GED scores and references.
Admission Process
- Full-time class begins in July. Pre-entrance tests are given in February, March, and April.

- Adult students only.

- Must be certified in CPR.
Certifications
The Kiamichi Technology Center Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Graduates of this state approved program are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nurses.
